The Rise and Fall of Demi by Aubree Espinosa

1 Dec
This week I read a bibliography on Demetria Devonne Lovato. She is more well known as Demi Lovato. Demi was born on August 20, 1992 in Dallas,Texas. She is the middle of 3 children who all happen to be girls. Demi’s career as a singer all started in 2007. Her first appearance was on a mini show called “As the Bell Rings”. That is when her career began to take off. She then stared in a movie called “Camp Rock”. That is when her singing carrer really took off. In 2008 she came out with her first album called “Did You Forget”.
Later on in her career Demi began to go down hill. It was not that her talent was lost, it was that she let the critics demeaning words get to her. Demi became extremely depressed and began to cut and starve herself. She felt as though no one loved her and that all the hateful words people were saying was true. Because of this experience many look to Demi as a role model. Demi completely turned her life around and no longer lets other peoples opinion bring her down.
While enduring these struggles Demi wrote an extremely successful album. This album is called “Unbroken”. I would personally say that it is by far one of the best albums she has produced. The songs explain what she has gone through and what she continues to endure. The songs are about how she overcame her hardships and learned that nobody can bring her down. The songs also depict her her strength to make it through anything life throws at her. The first song released from the album “Unbroken” was “Skyscraper”. This song illustrates that Demi cannot be broken down despite the negativity of some people. Through Demi’s trials she has become a role model to many.

Demi Lovato is seen as a role model by many young teenage girls and I personally think that she has earned this by openly exposing her problems and struggles. Opening one’s person life is hard and especially being a celebrity. Demi is courageous for doing so and has earned my respect.

I completely agree with your view on Demi. I believe the struggles she’s gone through has only made her stronger, and we can tell in her music.

I really wish you would have touched on the subject of bullying that happened to Demi before she even became famous, because ultimately that is where her problems originated from. However, I am glad that you wrote about her. I eulogize her for speaking so candidly about the struggles she has faced. Demi is truly an inspirational, young woman that doesn’t get the recognition she deserves.
