Live in the Moment by Giovanna Caravetta

“To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.” ~ Oscar Wilde

Every day of my life, I make sure to live each and every second to its absolute greatest capacity. That being said, it is quite evident that the rest of this beautiful world does not live by the same mantra I do, instead they choose to put off until tomorrow what they could be getting done today. While I strive to put sunshine in each day, others are sitting around and being lazy because they think they have another guaranteed day. In reality, the exact opposite is true, and not any single day besides the present is ever guaranteed.

To actually live your life as though it would be your last is quite an amazing feat in itself; however, it is most definitely a challenging one. Most people go about each day simply going through the exact same motions of the days prior. This is such a horrible way to live a life, especially considering the fact that God did not intend it to be that way. There are obviously all of those sayings out there like, “Live for today,” “Seize the day,” “You only live once,” “Make each day count,” etc., but how can someone just say these mantras without actually modifying their life and doing so?

Almost everyone I come across is so easily saying something like, “I’m bored,” or even, “I’m tired,” but how can you be even the least bit tired or bored when you have only seen such a minute piece of this ever-changing, awe-inspiring, and crazy beautiful world? This is the sole reason why I believe the aforementioned quote to be true, and I concur with the fact that all most people do is simply exist and never take the reins of their own life. If someone really was that tired of their situations, dramas, or relationships, they would not leave them to chance; rather they would live in the moment and seize each and every opportunity to grab hold of the reins in their own life.  Each day may not be good, but there is always something good in each day…you just have to get up, go out, and find it.

I liked how you started the paper with a quote, which by the way I liked that quote. I thought your paper was very inspiring and I could connect with most of the things you mentioned. P.S. Very well written 🙂
